Social solidarity?

I started thinking of ways to help those who are struggling. Are there any? I mean ways, not people struggling. Of those there are many. Small ways, things that can make a difference to someone’s miserable, boring, hopeless, locked-down day. Buying an elderly neighbour some groceries? I have an elderly neighbour who likes to pee on her door mat and scream abuse at anyone passing by so not sure that’s very practical. She might throw my social solidarity potatoes in my face. Or rub my face in hummus. Calling a stranded foreigner to say hi, I’m a stranded foreigner? Teach someone how to knit? Take a dog for a walk?
